Over 450 volunteers took a well-earned rest the evening of May 2 when the 2009 Tour of Homes officially ended. After all the proceeds were counted and bills paid, Bonnie Moore and Pat Valz, Tour co-chairs, presented a check for $97,500 to the 2010 Guild Co-Presidents, Millann Funk and Patricia McCormick. All who participated in the Tour, whether as a volunteer, a shopper, a participant in the home tours, or a donor, shared in raising the funds that will go to the many charitable organizations that make such a difference in the lives of so many of our neighbors in Dawson and Pickens Counties.

A year ago we began this journey and what an experience it has been. During the past year we have been privileged to meet and work with so many creative, talented people. The Steering Committee has risen to the occasion no matter what the size of the task was. We could not have had a successful Tour without the 350-plus volunteers and the Big Canoe community at large. Know that every one of you is special and please accept our sincere thank you.

Dates set for Special Event and the Tour of Homes in 2010
Our 2010 Co-Chairs, Liz Donovan-Davis and Sue Hauseman, have announced that the Special Event will be held on Saturday, April 24, and the Tour of Homes is scheduled for Friday, April 30, and Saturday, May 1, 2009.
